What happened

In Raleigh, one person was taken to a hospital after a Saturday-night shooting in the 2200 block of Linville Ridge Drive, WRAL and CBS 17 report, each citing the city's police.

WRAL, with a datePublished stamp of 1:44:05 UTC (9:44 p.m. Eastern on Oct. 31) and a dateModified stamp of 2:41:08 UTC (10:41 p.m. Eastern), wrote that the person's injuries were not life-threatening. The same file says officers remained at the scene as of 9:30 p.m. and that the circumstances around the shooting were not known. The article's own posted line reads 1:44 a.m. on Nov. 1.

CBS 17, posted at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, independently wrote that officers were looking for a suspect after Halloween gunfire in the Hedingham neighborhood. Investigators there timed the call a little past 8:30 p.m. in that same block.

What only CBS 17 reports

That account said the person had a gunshot wound and went to a local hospital. The suspect, on that page, left before officers arrived. The inquiry remains open, the station wrote.

What only WRAL reports

The station's 9:30 p.m. line is not on CBS 17. Neither is that unknown-circumstances closer, nor the 1:44 a.m. page stamp.

WRAL does not use the Hedingham name, the 8:30 p.m. clock, or a fleeing-suspect sentence.

What we don't know yet

Officials have not named the person who was hurt or said who fired. We have not found a written city release we can read. Neither page names the hospital. WRAL's two clocks do not match.
