Update, Monday morning: Raleigh recorded 0.73 inches of rain Saturday. Sunday was dry. The weather service now expects a cool, dry week, with no rain in the forecast.

Raleigh: Third straight daily record high, 88 Friday after 89 Thursday and 90 Wednesday, weather service says
The National Weather Service said Raleigh reached 88 degrees on Oct. 16, breaking the daily record of 86 from 1897. That follows Thursday's record of 89 and Wednesday's record of 90. Rain and a sharp cooldown are forecast for Saturday.

Triangle: NWS confirms EF-1 tornadoes in northeast Raleigh and near Louisburg
Monday surveys also rated an EF-0 tornado in Clayton and a brief EF-0 near Harrells. Fayetteville and the Jordan Lake area had no final rating posted as of Monday evening.

Discounted fair tickets stay on sale through Thursday, Oct. 15, when the fair opens. The National Weather Service now expects rain to reach the ground Saturday evening and continue through Sunday.

Raleigh's 7:17 p.m. forecast discussion still has 1 to 2 inches of rain starting Saturday evening. Isaias was 45 miles southeast of Pensacola at 8 p.m. Eastern, with 110 mph winds, and nearing landfall.
