    Fayetteville: Police identify Nyaiir Wilkerson, 17, as Maloney Avenue shooting victim

    Police later said the person killed was 17. We have changed the headline and the story to say teenager, not man.

    Earlier version: The first version of this story, based on Saturday's police account as published by WRAL, described the person who died as a man and said police had not released an age.

    Why: WRAL and CBS17, citing Fayetteville police, later reported the victim was 17. Our first headline used "man" from Saturday's account.
