What happened
In Clayton, Parks and Recreation listed a daylight Halloween walk for Friday, Oct. 30.
That page puts the walk from 1 to 3 p.m. along Main Street and Town Square at 100 W. Main Street. It says the route starts at Horne Square, that shops along the way are to hand out candy to preschool-age children and younger, and that costumes are welcome.
After the walk, the same page says Town Square will have games, other activities, and a petting zoo. Music is not mentioned there, and neither is a ticket price.
A Johnston County events listing, presented by the town, matches that date, clock, start point, street address, and age limit. Music appears on that listing with the games and the petting zoo.
CBS 17, writing Thursday morning, independently printed Friday's same three-hour window, the Horne Square-to-Town Square route, the preschool-age limit, and the Town Square stop.
