What happened
In Raleigh, an 18-year-old woman has been charged with murder after another woman was shot Tuesday and died afterward, according to the city's police force as reported by WRAL, CBS 17 and The News & Observer.
The three pages name Shaliah Battista, 18, and Littlemaria Garcia, 20. WNCN and the N&O write Littlemaria Catalina Garcia. WRAL skips the middle name.
A charge is an accusation. Everyone charged is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court. No public statement from Battista, or from a lawyer for her, has turned up.
Where and when
WRAL wrote that officers arrived around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex on Garner Road and found Garcia had been shot. The WNCN account, quoting that force, used the same clock and put the call in the 1100 block. The newspaper used just after 3 p.m. and printed a house number. This file keeps only the block.
CBS 17's opening sentence said Tuesday morning. That does not match its own 3:10 p.m. line or the afternoon clocks on WRAL and the newspaper, so morning is not treated here as the arrival time.
What the pages share next
All three accounts say Garcia was taken to a hospital and died there. The WNCN story and the newspaper add that her injuries were first called life-threatening. WRAL leaves that phrase out.
They also say Battista stayed there and was arrested. CBS 17 writes that she is of Raleigh. WRAL's page uses Shaliah Battista; CBS 17 and the newspaper add Nikole.
A preliminary inquiry, quoted on all three pages, found the two women were in a dating relationship when this happened. CBS 17 shortens that to "a relationship."
What only some pages add
CBS 17, citing records still closed to us, first said she was held without bond and was due in Wake County court Wednesday afternoon. The newspaper independently wrote that she remains in county custody and would appear that afternoon.
WRAL later wrote that a judge, at that Wednesday first appearance, ordered her held without bond. ABC11 separately reported the same no-bond result and a Nov. 18 return date. WRAL omitted that November date.
The newspaper, citing files we have not read, also reported a Johnston County charge earlier this month for illegally carrying a concealed gun and that those papers identified a black Glock 19. WRAL's later page mentions that Johnston charge and a posted bond, without the Glock line. This file does not treat that pistol as the weapon used Tuesday.
A written department release still has not turned up.

What we don't know yet
Officials have not said what led to the shooting, or what weapon they believe was used Tuesday. ABC11 did not print a time or courtroom for that November date.

Why it matters
City police have charged an 18-year-old after a woman was shot and later died on Garner Road. Readers need the names officials have released, that a judge has now held her without bond, and that a charge is not a conviction.
